Welcome to NAFI
National Association of Flight Instructors
|
An international organization dedicated exclusively to raising and maintaining the professional standing of the flight instructor in the aviation community, NAFI has served as the voice of aviation education since inception in 1967. We now move to enhance this original commitment, as general aviation faces new and exciting challenges. NAFI serves the full spectrum of the flight instructor community, and offers its members the finest benefit package available in aviation education. With our monthly publication of Mentor, MASTER INSTRUCTOR program, industry discounts, and seminars, NAFI recognizes flight instructors as the front line for quality control in the aviation world. So whether you are a CFl, an Ultralight Flight Instructor, a student pilot, or simply an interested individual, NAFI has something for you.

2008 Nat'l General Aviation Award Winners Named
February 27, 2008 - In each of the past 45 years, the General Aviation Awards program and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have recognized a small group of aviation professionals in the fields of flight instruction, aviation maintenance, avionics, and safety for their contributions to aviation, education, and flight safety.
This awards program is a cooperative effort between the FAA and more than a dozen industry sponsors. The selection process begins with local FAA Safety Team managers at Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) and then moves on to the eight regional FAA offices. Panels of aviation professionals from within those four fields then select national winners from the pool of regional winners.
Recipients of this year's national awards are Timothy Daniel "Tim" Adkison of Benton, Kentucky, Avionics Technician of the Year; Max Trescott of Mountain View, California, Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) of the Year; Michael Daniel "Mike" Busch of Arroyo Grande, California, Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) of the Year; and John Anthony Teipen of University City, Missouri, FAA Safety Team Representative of the Year. Previously, this award was the Aviation Safety Counselor (ASC) of the Year. (read more)
